The crosswalk along High Street (crosswalk #1 on map) and the crosswalk on Tower Road and University Crescent (crosswalk #2 on map) are areas in our community where many residents have experienced or witnessed someone almost getting hit. The UCA and many community residents have repeatedly voiced concerns to SFU regarding the lack of signage around these crosswalks.
After meeting with SFU - Facilities Services, they have surveyed the crosswalks and agreed to install pedestrian controlled flashing signs at each crossing. The equipment has been ordered but delivery time has been significantly delayed. The current estimated timeline is still a few months but they will be installed as soon as possible.
